High-Strength Fiberglass Composite Wrap for Emergency & Structural Pipeline Repair

Industrial-grade polyurethane-impregnated fiberglass bandage engineered for rapid, permanent repair of leaking, cracked, or damaged pipes. Water-activated system cures in 15 minutes - no welding, no hot work permits required.

Product Overview

Multi-Layer Composite Repair Technology

Our pipe repair bandage is constructed from multi-layer specialty fiberglass fabric fully impregnated with advanced polyurethane resin. This block copolymer formulation features soft segments that provide exceptional adhesion while delivering rapid cure times and high post-cure strength.

Designed as a permanent structural repair solution, this composite pipe wrap effectively addresses high-temperature fractures, tears, cracks, and active leaks in industrial piping systems. The water-activated system eliminates the need for mixing, measuring, or specialized application equipment.

When activated with water, the bandage forms a rigid, steel-hard repair shell in just 15 minutes, creating a waterproof, pressure-resistant bond that restores pipe integrity to operational specifications.

Why Choose Our Pipe Fix Tape?

  • 15-minute cure time - resume operations faster than traditional repair methods
  • Underwater application - works in freshwater, saltwater, and submerged conditions
  • No hot work required - safe for explosive environments and confined spaces
  • Universal compatibility - bonds to metal, plastic, concrete, ceramic, and composite pipes
  • Cost-effective alternative - 70% less expensive than pipe replacement or welding

Key Features

Advanced Composite Repair Performance

High Hardness & Lightweight

Creates a rigid, steel-hard repair membrane with exceptional structural strength while maintaining minimal weight. The cured composite achieves Shore D hardness equivalent to engineering plastics without adding significant load to piping systems.

Structural Integrity Restored

Superior Adhesion

Advanced polyurethane block copolymer formulation provides ultra-strong adhesion to both metallic and non-metallic substrates. Creates molecular-level bonding that withstands thermal cycling, pressure fluctuations, and mechanical stress without delamination.

Permanent Bonding Technology

15-Minute Rapid Cure

Water-activated system initiates immediate polymerization upon contact with moisture. Achieves handling strength in 15 minutes and full structural cure within 1 hour at ambient temperature. Reduces downtime by up to 95% compared to traditional welded repairs.

Emergency Response Ready

100% Waterproof Performance

Impervious to continuous water immersion post-cure. Can be applied underwater including freshwater, saltwater, and marine environments. Maintains seal integrity against hydrostatic pressure and prevents secondary water infiltration through the repair zone.

Subsea Application Capable

Simple, Flexible Application

Requires no specialized equipment, mixing, or measuring. Pre-impregnated bandage is ready to use straight from the package. Highly conformable material wraps around complex geometries including elbows, tees, and flanges. Suitable for field repair by maintenance personnel.

Operator-Friendly Design

Multi-Material Compatibility

Bonds effectively to steel, stainless steel, PVC, HDPE, PP, rubber, concrete, FRP, ceramic, galvanized pipe, basalt, and wood substrates. Eliminates the need for material-specific repair inventories, simplifying MRO procurement and reducing stock requirements.

Installation Guide

Simple 4-Step Application Process

Our pipe repair bandage is designed for rapid deployment by maintenance personnel without specialized training or equipment. Complete installation in under 30 minutes.

01

Surface Preparation

Clean the damaged pipe area thoroughly to remove dirt, oil, loose rust, and debris. For active leaks, apply epoxy putty or sealant to temporarily stop fluid flow. Surface does not need to be completely dry - moisture aids polyurethane activation.

Time: 5 minutes
02

Bandage Activation

Remove the pipe repair bandage from its sealed foil package. Wearing protective gloves, immerse the entire roll in clean water (room temperature) for 5-10 seconds until fully saturated. Squeeze gently to remove excess water. Work quickly - polyurethane activation begins immediately.

Time: 1 minute
03

Wrap Application

Starting 2" before the damaged area, wrap the activated bandage around the pipe with 50% overlap on each pass. Maintain firm, consistent tension while wrapping. Continue past the damage by 2". For pressurized systems, apply 3-5 layers. Smooth out air pockets with gloved hands as you wrap.

Time: 3-5 minutes
04

Curing & Inspection

Smooth the final wrap layer firmly to ensure complete bonding. The bandage will begin to heat as curing initiates. After 15 minutes, the repair will be hard to the touch. Allow 60 minutes for full structural cure before pressurizing. Inspect for complete coverage and proper adhesion.

Time: 60 minutes cure

Safety Precautions

  • Always wear nitrile or latex gloves during application - polyurethane resin is sticky and difficult to remove from skin
  • Ensure adequate ventilation - curing process generates mild heat and odor
  • Depressurize system before application when possible for optimal results
  • Store unused bandages in sealed foil package in cool, dry location
  • Shelf life: 24 months from manufacture date when properly stored

Best Practices

  • Use multiple bandages for large repairs - better to over-wrap than under-wrap
  • For high-pressure systems (15-20 bar), apply 5+ layers with maximum overlap
  • Surface roughening (light sanding) improves mechanical bonding on smooth pipes
  • Apply at temperatures between 5°C-35°C for optimal curing performance
  • Protect outdoor repairs with UV-resistant coating or paint for extended service life
